Last February, VEF (MentorsŐ partner organization in Cebu) launched a branch in my area. I received my first loan of $85 which enabled me to buy more raw materials and increase my production. With most of my competitors closing shop, I was the only producer in my village. The demand of my products continued and the new capital inflow from VEF allowed me to respond to the demands. Then, I received another loan of $127 last July to buy more raw materials. Today, I am earning a net income of over $200 a month from my pottery business.

With this income, I can help my grandchildren go to school and I employ some of my children in the pottery business. I have such a fulfilling life.

Women like me can be relied upon in making payments to loans and can dream of a better future if we adhere to correct business practices and principles. Even though I am now a senior citizen, I am still actively engaged in my business. Thank you VEF for giving me a chance to prove that I can be a solution rather than be a problem.
